Drawing: circle

By  Jane Ponsford 1997 - 1999

Jane Ponsford

This is made from blue paper pulp cast over wires. Making it was like drawing in the air, hence the title. it is one from a series made between 1997 - 2000. First shown in 'Field', 1997 at the Chapman Gallery, Salford

I think of this piece as a drawing which describes a circle in a very complicated way. It was made using a repetitive arrangement to accumulate near identical elements and yet what emerged emphasises the differences; the errors in the process. One of three related pieces.
