Drawing Out The Monastery is the culmination of a 12month residency at The Monastery, Manchester. I built a 20ft x 8 ft installation built from 100's of graphite rubbings, textures of history taken from the architecture, interior and objects around The Monastery. The music performance and immersive was in collaboration with Gorton Voice Choir, my band L.A.S.H. and the Monastery's organ and cello player Stephen Mann.
The project is particularly focused on The Monastery as a site in relation to a sense of belonging and history and is a celebration to those that built, worked and still work The Monastery.
