dream home

By  Peter Grego 2016
The photographic work dream home is a companion piece to the en route print series. During an air raid on the evening of 28 August 1942, three members of the Bastianelli family, Anthony, Carolina and their daughter Laura, were killed on this site by a direct hit on the Duddeston Row Air Raid Shelter in Birmingham. Originally from Atina in southern Italy, Anthony and Carolina were my great-grandparents. I grew up in the house that they left that evening.
