Enriched Envelopments (3-D forms)

By Jenny Bradbury 2024

This three-dimensional piece was created using screen printed fabric inspired from a postal ephemeral collage. This was then used to mimic the external wrapper of an usually shaped gift. The smocking represents the cushioning often necessary on fragile gifts and references the Japanese art of Furoshiki where the wrapper is as important as the gift itself.
