Enterprise

Foam tubing is cut and placed on the ground. Light from the windows builds up inside the tubes which appear fiercely lit at the ends with some light projecting onto the floor beyond. The contact of the curved tubes to the floor is minimal giving the appearance of floating or travelling in space with a sci-fi connotation, molecules separated in an outward explosion, a new world forming. From the side the tubes appear as lines of brail, linking to the glow/fluorescent nature of the material, designed for high visibility and safety. This was one of the earlier works made in this space after closing my studio to sell my house shortly before the world economic crisis, the prolonged effects of which left me without a studio for some time and was symbolic of new enterprise both in this space and in the determination to move house.
