Europa One

According to myth, Europa was seduced by Zeus in the form of a white bull. Following a painting by Veronese that implies that it was a sensuous experience for both parties, this abstraction removes the semi clothed woman from view altogether and suggests her own pleasure. This painting is part of continuing work that plays with the paradoxical practice of visualising the impossible which painting reveals. It dissolves the familiar narrative, the solidified metaphor, opening up other meanings and feelings.
