Eve

Snake have become symbols of renewal, shedding - reflecting life and death, found across creation myths across the world. Growing up in the UK, the biblical serpent was the most familiar, shaping ideas of women with shame, and sin. In contrast, I was drawn to Nuwa, the Chinese goddess who formed humanity from clay, others by drawing a string through the soil. She's part serpent, part human, embodying creation without fear or stigma. This work explores how these myths shape our understanding of the body, femininity, and transformation.
