Gadfly Minus Two – The spirals and other patterns are not just decorative but operational in that they contribute to the dizzying effect that is one of the intentions of the work. The colour is an unresolved response to my so-called “Sicilian Geranium” - a pelargonium of personal significance- Who can know or guess all the artist’s intentions or references? The work will have new meanings in the eyes of each viewer.
