Stylistically based on the classic 1920s champagne glass pyramid and housed within a Chairman of the Board's mahogany desk, Glass Towers sought to examine the decadence of an era embraced by Britain in the 80s.
Beneath the opulent facade, a U-bend and model aircraft fuel pump redistributed liquid through the sculpture. Far from thirst-quenching, the fluids became turgid and discoloured, exposing the working mechanics housed below as the unglamourous components necessarily needed to ensure the smooth running of a seductive artifice.
