Harvest

I am searching for making work that is arresting and draws the viewer into every space on the canvas. I know every area so well as I work and rework each part into the whole until the painting arrives. More recently I am using stronger secondary colours, as seen here, with orange complimenting blues and warm greys. In this painting I've employed palette knife work with the majority of the application of paint.

Bcalm has a history of transition starting from 2013 when I exhibited this painting in a solo show in London, Thomas and Paul Gallery. Returning after the show I modified the painting by simplifying the complex array of shapes and making subtle changes to the colour values. Then in early 2015, post West Pier Art project, I changed it again.
