Hold

By  Jake Francis 2024

To be exhibited at "Shelter: Housing Emergency Exhibition" Crookes Social Club, Sheffield. September 12th 2024

Hold (2024) seeks to mimic the familiar trope of games as social idiom. Referencing their developmental significance as recognised by theorists such as Jean Piaget, Hold (2024) attempts to merge the playful with current struggle. Sifting through the numerous increases in price, social events, and other home-based struggles throughout the UK, the piece offers the question on whether the rules are in our favour - what sort of game are we expected to play?
