I'm all eyes

Materials: Egg box, acrylic paint, vintage textiles, horse hair, paper mache

This work takes inspiration from the phrase ‘I’m all ears’ but rather than listening it is references being watched, being constantly under the gaze of others. The eyes are inspired by a statue of goddess Kali and painted to fit  into the grooves of a damaged egg box. Vintage textiles both European and South Asian cultures bring together disparate geographical regions, whilst the horse hair serves as a reminder of our closeness to the animal kingdom.
