In Between the Shadows

I investigate places, surfaces and artefacts that expose their materiality, revealing their history. I am drawn to the ruined and fragile in the world around me. In my documentary photography I capture the out of place and the overlooked. I work in painted collage as I have an affinity with this process, manipulating the painted paper, assembling the fragments much as I  do with paint. These paintings assemble, subdued colour and changing textures to evoke these abandoned areas.
