Jill Impey’s graphical Timeline exploring intersectional histories from 4.6billion years ago & into the future
“Timelines” supported by Arts Council England’s (ACE) Developing Your Creative Practice funding, grew from “The Weather Report” Jill Impey’s 2020-23 project; supported by ACE; Disability Arts Shropshire (DASH); Drum & Brass, Leicester; Participate Contemporary Artspace and Media Active, Shropshire; Curious Arts, Sunderland; Aspace Arts, Southampton; Take A Part (Prince Rock Primary) Plymouth; Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery; The Hive, Shrewsbury; Meadow Arts and The Arts Institute, Plymouth. The project’s aim was to instigate culture change & shift towards greater inclusion in Visual Arts & Heritage. To this end 4 artists, Jill Impey, Jamila Walker Thomas, Emily Wilkinson & Tanya Raabe-Webber, collaborated on a tool kit for creatively sharing ideas of inclusion from different lived experiences of disability, neurodiversity, non-binary and racial awareness.
The Inclusion Toolkit comprises, Jill Impey’s graphical Timeline exploring intersectional histories from 4.6billion years ago & into the future and 4 workshop resources to help activate the timeline.
The aims for “Timelines” are to explore how an inclusive, immersive digital and in real life timeline installation can open up conversation through creative play.
