Kulturmenu (Paper Plane Sausages)

By  Bob Budd 2018
Made as part of the Kulturmenu project, Stuttgart, Germany. Stuttgart is one of the richest cities in Europe, with its modern industries (especially car making - Posche and Mercedes). I found a paper plane in the gutter, under the wheels of a car. It re-called a simpler life, perhaps lost in the gutter, somehow at odds with a hi-tech city. I made sausages out of paper planes in sheep casings. An exercise in how to `hunt/gather' food in a city context, how food can be identified and defined, and how food can become an expression of the place it is found and prepared in. Based on the romantic ideal of finding food in nature.
