Lace Works: Contemporary Art & Nottingham Lace, Nottingham Castle Museum

Lace Works featured the work of contemporary artists Lucy Brown, Joy Buttress, Nicola Donovan, Cal Laine, Teresa Whitfield and Timorous Beasties whose work reveals a continuing fascination with lace, one that goes beyond the traditional associations of lace with lingerie, bridal wear and suburban window dressing. Lucy Brown and Teresa Whitfield both made new work for the exhibition in direct response to historical lace in the Nottingham City Museums and Galleries' collection.
