Lift

A site-responsive installation made during the Arreciado residency, Spain. Canes are anchored in the sand below the water, each supporting a length of flag tape. The reflection of the cane confuses where the flag tape actually sits and gives an illusion of being elevated or in the air. Both waves and still water become emphasized and can create a sense of rocking.
