Lost Library: Female artist monographs in libraries

I have been in a period of development, thanks to the Arts Council of Wales and with regular use of studio space from DanceBlast in Abergavenny over the past few months.

This period of development has led to a focus on the issue of the gender disparity of representation of artists in the public realm, in particular the selection of books available in our public libraries.

I am now working with librarians, the public, artists, publishers and art organisations because I want to take action and generate solutions via my practice.

By doing so I am trying to create equality of representation of female to male artists that can also affect other areas of gender disparities such as equal pay and representation in leaderships and in positions of authority and influence.

This image is a still from my video journal of my period of dance-pondering and subsequent reflective writing sessions at DanceBlast in Abergavenny.
