Make yourself at home

Take your shoes off, have a cup of tea, and let’s make ourselves at home.

Reflecting on what makes us feel at home through drawing.

This project was an invitation to Kings College freshers to start conversation, to share ideas and to create a student home in cardboard. Objects, large and small, were drawn over the week to build a bedroom, study and living space. Details included everything from take a way pizza to text books, slippers, pets and keys, everything needed to create a safe, secure and happy base to live in a new city. Students were invited to add labels to express their thoughts and ideas about sanctuary and its importance.

The final installation was on display as an open exhibition.
