The painting, hovering between painting and drawing on the edge of abstraction in unfixed time, suggests a liminal space that thought might cross. Loosely based on trompe l’oiel wall paintings of lararia from Pompeii and Herculaneum the painting alludes to apotropaic signs and the aesthetic of damage. Oil on deep canvas.
