The painting, hovering between painting and drawing on the edge of abstraction in unfixed time, suggests a liminal space that thought might cross.
Loosely based on trompe l’oiel wall paintings of lararia from Pompeii and Herculaneum the painting alludes to apotropaic signs and the aesthetic of damage.
