“Map Focus”.

The temporary installation was assembled at a favourite woodland location ,Ramsgill Wood near Cleator in West Cumbria in April 2023.I wanted to literally physically map out the location using an ordnance survey depiction of the site . I visited several farms prior to the assembly to obtain a used feed bag on which to draw out the fine map details using a marker pen. I also wanted to use the plastic feed bag in recognition of these items littering the country hedgerows as well as acting as large canvases in which details can be embossed. I literally just let go of the map and let the artwork drape itself onto the woodland floor .
