May

Hand and machine embroidery on cotton, 48 X 38 cm, 2018 This piece is a response to Brexit and how the North of Ireland and Scotland said no. Theresa May who is the leader of the conservative Party, and the UK’s prime minister is a key person to include in my collection. A main issue with Brexit is what will happen to the Irish border between the North and South of Ireland. I collaged letters to form text taken from recent newspapers, this is to represent how we read and hear about the on going Brexit negotiations.
