Merched Chwarel is a group of 4 artists who worked collaboratively in N.Wales to search for the traces of women's footsteps and physical presence within the male dominated environment of the slate quarries.
The work "the Groaning Dresser" is Merched Chwarel"s centrepiece collaborative installation.
During its time in various galleries we will invite people to contribute objects so that it will increasingly groan with an accumulation of stuff
