Mitten

A reproduction of a 'Butte' rock formation from Monument valley in the USA. An iconic place featured extensively in popular media from western movies to roadrunner cartoons. As such our relationship with such places is formed through reproduced and interpreted images. I have played with this idea by removing detail from the photograph using a halftone process, such as those found in print, removing colour and forming it into objects reminiscent of set backdrops.
