Modular Maze, 2010 gold vinyl on floor, 220 x 220 cm

By  Mary Yacoob 2016
A floor drawing that visitors could walk on. The drawing is Inspired by the Modernist architect Le Corbusier's modulor system of proportions based on the human body and the linking of metric and imperial measurements. The modular system was an attempt to create a universal method for creating harmonious compositions. In this drawing, concentric circles are composed using the modular system but they are broken up so that they can be navigated as in a maze.
