Mother and Child is a set of 2 plaques made in iron, featuring a portrait of Eliane Mello and her 6-month-old unborn child who died at the Brumandinho iron mine disaster in Brazil in 2019. It’s displayed on a table covered with Chita fabric, a textile traditionally made in Brazil, that around 1950’s became a symbol of “Brazilianness” in Brazilian modernism.
