Mute and Blink

By  Lou Gue Hankins 1999 - 2000

Louise Hankins

Taking the authorial trace as my point of departure, the piece engages with the cultural transformations which are taking place within the concept of the family archive, in both the access to and display of, personal data. Underpinning the work as a whole 'Mute and Blink' explores and critiques a 'new grammar of movement'; by simultaneously exploring the continual deferral of the subject, the piece seeks out the complex relationships between projected image and sound through digital animation. 1999/2000.
