Nowheres

By Charlotte Harker 2014
Nowheres is a collaborative project between Artist, David Harker and Poet and Writer, Tamar Yoseloff. The project began by locating a mutual fascination with landscapes that might be described as provisional, places that appear to have no intrinsic value or interest in their own right; the title arises from an attempt to define these liminal areas (thinking about what it is like to be 'in the middle of nowhere'). Yoseloff spent three months responding to drawings and paintings of Harker's, most of which were unknown to her; the idea of isolation and anonymity was important in framing her narratives. The culmination of their collaboration was a public reading at the opening of Harker's exhibition at Islington Arts Factory in July 2014.
