Nude with a Cream Jug

This is a simple little painting that emerged from a life drawing where I enjoyed playing with distorting the figure to force her to fit in the space available. I always find this adds to the narrative and in this case enhances her vulnerability and worn look - a fitting contrast to the jug beside her. It's really an excuse to enjoy the relationship between the colours on the surface.
