Odyssey

Sinking in water symbolises a descent into the unconscious; a movement away from the visible; dissolution and potential renewal coexist. In alchemical terms, this is solutio:[1] a dissolving into fluid matter that is part of nigredo,[2] the stage where form disintegrates so that something new might emerge, a place of rebirth and emergence.
