Video installation (superimposition of two videos on a semitranslucent projection screen).
”Oenothera” (evening primrose) is a flower whose blossoms begin to open at dusk, unfold within a space of minutes, bloom for a period of one night and begin to wilt at dawn.
Two video films are projected from opposite sides onto a translucent screen. One film shows the vulva of a woman. The second film superimposes on the first an image of the unfolding of an evening primrose bloom in real time (and the return to the bud as a loop).
Both films penetrate each other on the screen.
The screen permits one or other of the films to advance into the foreground. The degree to which the other film penetrates from the rear is determined by the standpoint of the viewer.
In the room a recording of the chirping of crickets and other sounds of a warm summer night are audible.
