Open Studio

By  Harriet Hill 2015
A huge sculpture that fills and blocks the studio space but offers an invitational pathway in. This leads to a hole in a wall giving a glimpse through to another space, a computer with my portfolio rolling, a couple of prints, a drawing and the detritus of the working studio. The work is constructed with ply wood and brushed white emulsion. It took five days to build. The edge floats 100 mm away from the walls and any furniture it passes, emphasising the work as an independent sculpture filling the room rather than an alteration of the space.
