This is a public artwork made in celebration of Councillor Ken Keith of Knowsley MB Council, with funds raised by his council colleagues and former workmates from Stadt Moers. Adrian worked closely with the Keith family and the two local primary schools where Ken was a governor. Together they discovered an Edward Lear poem about a Table and a Chair that summed up Ken's love of life. Adrian composed a special verse for the tabletop and hand-forged the sculpture at his workshop in Manchester.
On 10th October 2014, Adrian was presented with an award as 'Adult Visual Artist of the Year' in a ceremony celebrating the Knowsley Sports and Cultural Awards 2014. This is in recognition of Adrian's successful public art projects with schools and local communities in the Knowsley Metropolitan Borough over the last four years, culminating in the recent 'Out For A Walk' sculpture.
