A collaborative- participatory project by artist Françoise Dupré, realised during her residency at the French Cultural Center in Mostar (20 July - 21August 2009) with Mostar's women association Novi Pogled, friends of the French Cultural Center, art students from Mostar, Birmingham (England) and Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Part of the artist project HERE AND THERE (2011-2003).
OUVRAGE [uvra :z] 2m50 W x 3m60 H x 0m50 D
Wool, wire, bamboo canes, tapes, plastic (bags, bottle and tubing), woven and printed polythene, stitching, hooking and French (spool) knitting.
The residency included an introductory solo exhibition: Mille-fleurs, at the Cejvan Cehaja Hamam, Mostar's historical Ottoman bath (22-29 July 2009), an International Atelier (27 July-14 August 2009) through which OUVRAGE was created and its exhibition (17-21 August 2009) For more information about Mille-fleurs see separate entry.
OUVRAGE was shown in Banja Luka at the Pavillon Petar Kocic (15-22 October 2009), Tuzla at the Lokot gallery (19- 28 November 2009). at the University of Art and Design, Cluj-Napoca, Romania (29-2 April 2010), Birmingham City University, School of Art (20-30 April 2010); Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award, 5 year celebration, North Wall Art Centre, Oxford, Artweeks-Oxfordshire Visual Arts Festival (8-16 May 2010) and was part of the artist solo exhibition autre mers (other seas) The Women’s Library, London (25 May-1 October2011).
The project came out of Project B (a collaboration with artist Myfanwy Johns, architect Sabina Fazlic and the Bosnian Cultural Centre-Midlands, 2007-2008, funded by Arts Council England and BCU). Project B's research visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina in spring 2008, prompted the artist to seek opportunities to further engage with Bosnia and Herzegovina communities and cultures.

The project was funded by Birmingham City University, the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina and sponsored by PONY, Needle Industries( India). It was hosted by the French Cultural Centre in Mostar.
