Painting a curbstone the same colour as a curbstone.

By  David Sherry 2021
While on residency with Findhorn Bay Arts in Forres. I made a series of performances on the High Street. One work was 'Painting a curbstone the same colour as a curbstone'. I choose a curbstone and painted it the same colour it already was. Trying to match its colour. Giving the curbstone a more curbstone like surface. People approached me and asked what I was up to and why I was doing this? There were many interesting conversations about Covid 19, Buddhism, mixing colours for car spray painting, gardening, Irish folk music and the comedy clubs at the Fringe. It was a very creative experience. I found many reasons for my work. If you ever visit Forres look out for it, its the curbstone that looks a lot like a curbstone.
