"Plastic Tidelines".

By  Tim Pugh 2016
The temporary installation was created at St Bees beach in West Cumbria in May 2016.The beach is a beautiful location but is prone to deposits of high accumulations of pollution brought in on fierce storms from time to time.Although I was shocked by the sheer amount of bottle tops deposited on the sands , I was equally seduced by the colours.I used blue tack to adhere the tops onto the rock in a random manner. The artwork has a playful quality to it whilst also highlighting the dangers of environmental degradation and positioning the bottltops amidst a particularly picturesque cove, amplifies this uneasy balance .
