Part of the Next Stop Byker project, 'Points of View' was a temporary public artwork for Byker Metro Station, Newcastle upon Tyne, commissioned by Nexus. It resulted from a collaboration between artist Debby Akam and Byker Bridge Housing Association, and was based on a process of exploring Byker on foot. Each walk was a shared experience marked by a series of photographs. 'Points of View' presents the results of these separate excursions as a single image, the architecture of Byker providing the stage for the protagonists to present their environment as a series of moments in which topography is made personal through a shared process.
