Queen king checkmate

By  Henny Burnett 1990 - 2021

I often revisit old work remaking or combining new elements that add a new or additional interpretation. In ‘Queen king checkmate’ I took a piece from the 1990s ‘Utility Tower’ that had been lost for a period of time and had recently been found. I added the ‘queen’ a pink fabric plaster cast with a pastry cutter crown to contrast with the ‘king’ cast in ciment fondu. The work was retitled adding a new story to the piece.
