By  Dominique Rey 2006

Dimensions
25cm x 20cm x 7cm

Site-specific tableau of model butterflies. The materials used such as maps and wallpaper play on the evocative names of butterflies. It is constructed in response to Blickling Hall (National Trust). The works play with notions of history, artefact and the unrecorded lives of people who lived at the hall in paid service. The work originated from access to an archive of old horticultural illustrations that included images of fantastical, hybrid insects.
