'Recusant' is from a body of work that tackles the issues around the desire of the human to leave something behind as evidence of their existence. For some it is a personal mark, but for most it is a record of death. And for the most part they are recorded in stone or on rock. Whilst this is the preferred medium of longevity human memory is shorter and events that were once so important have now faded, along with the memory of those who once mattered to someone.
