'Rembrandt Tulips with Bee'.
By

2017
This work is inspired by 17c Dutch Flower paintings which were remarkable for their realism, and purchased as a substitute for the real thing. Tulips were highly desirable for their beauty and rarity. The ultimately transient nature of this floral celebrity is represented by the bumble bee.
