'Rembrandt Tulips with Bee'.

This work is inspired by 17c Dutch Flower paintings which were remarkable for their realism, and purchased as a substitute for the real thing. Tulips were highly desirable for their beauty and rarity. The ultimately transient nature of this floral celebrity is represented by the bumble bee. Oil on canvas 90x90 cm.
