'Rembrandt Tulips with Bee'.

Dimensions
90 x90 cm

This work is inspired by 17c Dutch Flower paintings which were remarkable for their realism, and purchased as a substitute for the real thing. Tulips were highly desirable for their beauty and rarity. The ultimately transient nature of this floral celebrity is represented by the bumble bee. Oil on canvas 90x90 cm. Showing at ' Botanical Beauty' exhibition 27 Feb-31 march 2017. RIVERSIDE gallery Richmond on Thames TW9 1TP

‘ Burnt Out ‘

Oils on Fabric on Canvas. A monochromatic re-working of photographic image. The focusing and dissolving pattern is intended to work as a visual metaphor for distant and half remembered images. The Blue of the fabric evokes the seaside atmosphere of a windy day in Whitby, Yorkshire.
