This work constitutes part of a series of sculptures which explore relationships between sleep and sculpture and the potential that has for the imaginary realm and reverie. Situated in the trees of Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge, the sculpture invites the viewer to imagine what it would be like to lie there and take take the place of the missing presence of the sleeper, marked by the hollow within the pillow. The sculpture placed in such an environment suggests a different sense of time like that experienced in sleep, memory and daydream.
