A ripple can be a small wave or series of waves of water. Or a sound wave, as in a ripple of applause at a concert. It can also refer to a series of repercussions or consequences. In the context of the Aral Sea catastrophe I think of RIPPLE as the cause (the plan of diverting the rivers to irrigate cotton) and effect (the consequences that follow, in this case the disappearance of the Aral Sea). My idea was simply to record a series of individual figures alone, reflecting on the Aral Sea landscape. Exhibited at Artisterium 5 'The Protest That Never Ends'
