Riversdale Road Front and Back Garden 1992 I

Mixed media (mono-print, photocopy transfer, varnish on seven pieces of handmade paper).The piece has been commissioned for exhibition at Cairnhill, Rioux-Martin in France as part of 'Rendez-Vous aux Jardins 2018’ 1st- 3rd June on the theme of 'Europe of Gardens'. The exhibition at Cairnhill is part of a wider European Open Gardens event co-ordinated by the French Ministry of Culture. This piece is inspired by the gardens of my grandparents- the front and back garden of their modest working class house in the City of Birmingham. The garden no longer exists today but it is celebrated in this artwork.
