Riversdale Road Front and Back Garden 1992 II

Mixed media ( mono-print, photocopy transfer, varnish on five pieces of handmade paper). The piece has been commissioned for exhibition at Cairnhill, Rioux-Martin in France as part of 'Rendez-Vous aux Jardins 2018’ 1st- 3rd June 2018 on the theme of 'Europe of Gardens'. The exhibition at Cairnhill is part of a wider European Open Gardens event co-ordinated by the French Ministry of Culture. This piece is made up of images of a front and back garden of a modest working class house in the city of Birmingham. It was my grandparents' house and gardens. The gardens no longer exist but they are celebrated in this piece.
