By  Joe Hancock 1991
wood, glue Movable sculpture comprising 540 pieces of wood, totalling 19.8 metres in length. The earliest of my works that has a direct relationship with my current practice. The cubes are not joined to each other but are held in place due to their intersection, and can be moved within a limited degree of freedom. Therefore the cubes may occupy infinitely variable positions within the finite volume of space occupied by the sculpture, while never changing order relative to each other.
