Rosary

By  Joe Hancock 1991
wood, glue Movable sculpture comprising 540 pieces of wood, totalling 19.8 metres in length. The earliest of my works that has a direct relationship with my current practice. The cubes are not joined to each other but are held in place due to their intersection, and can be moved within a limited degree of freedom. Therefore the cubes may occupy infinitely variable positions within the finite volume of space occupied by the sculpture, while never changing order relative to each other. www.joe-hancock.com/rosary
