For Rhôd 2012 I have created a symbiotic sculptural work “Sentinel (Flash Photography is Encouraged)”, and installed it on the banks of the river Bargod that cuts through the site of Melin Glonc. I recycled High Visibility vests to make this reflecting piece. The foundations of new artists studios and living accommodation have been incorporated in installations and performances during the event. I responded to the safety accessories present on the building site of Melin Glonc. It hints to our concerns for the environment and how we relate to nature. It reflects on our increasingly collective desire for insurance against genuine and manipulated threats. Visitors were encouraged to use flash photography to picture this work.
