Silk Route: Victoria Linehan

By Peter Grego 2017 - 2018
Silk Route Victoria Linehan 6 October 2017 - 12 January 2018 The exhibition Silk Route was an exhibition curated for Galerie Mayci, Birmingham. It presented silkscreen prints and etchings by painter/printmaker Victoria Linehan. Abstract silkscreen prints reflected the colour and vibrancy associated with materials, particularly the silks, that were traded along the Silk Route but the exhibition title alluded also to the mode of printmaking adopted for this series by Victoria. The abstract silkscreen prints are complimented by a series of figurative etchings, studies of the architecture of Venice, an important trading post of the Silk Route.
