There is a particular kind of patience required when you are sitting and waiting for something to teach you. A student at a desk, notebook open, everything you need right in front of you. The irony being that the answer was always yours to find.
This piece began with exactly that moment, waiting for an altered state to deliver some great revelation, whilst quietly understanding that the revelation was already there, sitting in the same mind doing the waiting.
The central dissolving gold form is the ego, mid-collapse. The skulls are back, reminding us again not to take any of this too seriously. The geometric chaos surrounding it is the mind in full theatrical performance of its own importance.
The teacher never arrives.
That is the joke.
And once you see it, it is very hard to unsee
