Spaces between

A large scale site specific window installation at the Golden Thread Gallery.

The windows were illuminated using natural light, allowing a gentle ebb and flow depending on the weather outside, having an instant connection to the outside world. The passing clouds softening the shadows being cast by handmade plants placed between two screens.

I am drawn to phenomena of clouded visibility - things that are in the process of appearing or disappearing, just like our biodiversity and habitat, echoing the effects of climate change.

These plants have been made to mimic the natural habitat, as well as plants that were in bloom in this area and at this time of year.

The plants have all been carefully handmade from recycled wire, paper, small pieces of cotton wool, clay and cardboard.
